Try it on an outlet which is not in the kitchen and check. If it does not trip, it could be because in the kitchen you might have added another device that is running as well. Chime is high wattage device hence it needs to work independently on a particular outlet.
If that does not work, I suggest unplugging the device and keeping it off for 2 days and then trying again.
